Benefits Of Attending
Gain Knowledge
The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “He who follows a path in quest of knowledge, Allāh will make the path of Jannah easy to him. The angels lower their wings over the seeker of knowledge, being pleased with what he does. The inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and even the fish in the depth of the oceans seek forgiveness for him.” (Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi)
Recitation of Qur’ān
The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “Everything has a heart and the heart of the Qur’ān is Yā Sīn. So, whoever recites Yā Sīn, Allāh will inscribe for him the reward of reciting the Qur’ān ten times.” (Tirmidhi)
Sending Ṣalawāt
The most important and foremost virtue is the command and order of Allāh Himself. Allāh says in the Qur’ān: Verily, Allāh and His angels confer blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Confer blessings on him, and greet him with a goodly salutation. (Qur’ān 33:56)
Attain Blessings
The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “Whenever some people gather in one of Allah’s houses (mosques) to recite the book of Allāh and study it among themselves – then calmness (tranquillity) descends upon them, the angels surround them, mercy covers them, and Allah mentions them to those who are with him” (Muslim).
What is a Mawlid?
Mawlid, Mawlid an-Nabi ash-Sharif or Eid Milad un Nabi (Arabic: المولد النبوي, romanized: mawlid an-nabawī, ’Birth of the Prophet ﷺ’, sometimes simply called in colloquial Arabic مولد, mawlid, mevlid, mevlit, mulud, among other vernacular pronunciations; sometimes ميلاد, mīlād) is the observance of celebrating the day Allāh ﷻ gifted all of mankind with the birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
The evening is filled with invigorating talks from distinguished scholars using this opportunity to speak about events surrounding his ﷺ noble birth, his life, his mission and share advice on how we can emulate his Sunnah ﷺ. We also recite traditional poetry in his ﷺ praise and use this occasion as an opportunity to reignite the the love of the prophet ﷺ in our hearts.
